The Bolivian Association for Rural Development, pro-rural, is a not for
profit association. Based on the experience acquired in the
framework of a programme supporting the non governmental sector and set up
by the Swiss Co-operation active in Bolivia since 1983 (NOGUB - COSUDE), pro
rural was created in 2000.
A matured experience: 25 years of work with grass root development
organisations and the development of several financial and non financial tools have made of Pro
rural a trustable partner.
We work to allow men and women increase their potential and contribute to a better human dignity in order to reinforce the development which is factor of human, social and economic progress.
Strategic objective
Through generation, management and channelling of resources, we aim at
influencing the capital formation cycle and at developing production and
management skills in rural areas. In this way we contribute to the
improvement of income and living conditions of the population.
A major element of our objective is the creation of sustainable living
conditions for populations of territories having low development indicators
and for poor people in rural areas. Training schemes to capital formation
and non financial services are developed.
Vision
In a market of social compromises, pro rural reinforced processes and
economic entrepreneurship spirit which complement the effort made by
enterprises and rural producers, and help them to become sustainable.
Mission
To promote and improve the living conditions of men and women, rural
producers, facilitating sustainable economic development by linking them
with all actors of the value chain.

pro-rural promotes the reinforcement of rural development where intermediary and main cities are seen as space of rural initiatives and rural investment. Therefore pro rural support companies with a set of innovative financial tools and non financial services. They support the development of the capital cycle to allow small producers to increase their patrimony, to capitalise and expand their enterprise..
Pro rural offers a range of financial services, from seed capital to risk capital, short term float and investment capital, for Farmer Economic Organisations as well as micro, small and medium size rural and urban enterprises.
As part of the social and sustainable economy, respectful of the solidarity chain spirit, all services are developed in such a way that the final beneficiaries are invited to become associate of Pro Rural.
In order to share our experience and to learn from others, we want to
participate in working groups and coordination platforms at a national and
international level.
